Music in the Meadows 2

28th - 29th August 2021

After the hugely successful, sell-out ‘Music in the Meadows’ last September, we are delighted to present more brilliant, live, open-air music in Hathersage over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

As last year, we will be treated over the weekend to Lizzie Ball (Hathersage-born, internationally renowned violinist and vocalist) and James Pearson (pianist, composer and creative tour de force) in his amazing Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club trio (with Sam Burgess on bass and James Turner on drums). The format will again be something of a ‘Glyndebourne experience’ so bring a picnic and munch in the meadow off Baulk Lane from 1pm with live music from 2:30pm onwards.

Saturday 28th August: The beautiful Peak District tempts James Pearson’s trio out of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Soho, London to perform glorious music from the Great American Songbook including nods to Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Dudley Moore, Oscar Peterson and so much more (www.jamespearsonmusic.com).

Sunday 29th August: Our own Lizzie Ball joins James Pearson’s trio for a rip-roaring musical journey that takes you through bluegrass, folk fiddle, lush jazz arrangements and much, much more (www.lizzieball.com).

Both shows are presented by The Shuttleworth Trust, supported by The Hathersage Players, and will raise money for local good causes.
